Sea Monsters

So a long time ago, I fell in love with an certain Etsy shop, Oh My Cavalier!. Then joy of all joys, I discovered that she also had a website! (Actually she has a few different wonderful blogs to choose from) Although the images are no longer on there, she originally posted some wonderful embroidery work she had done of a ship being attacked by a giant squid and some others of whales. Needless to say, I fell in love with them seeing as I have a strange fascination with giant creatures. :) The other day I was in a thrift store and I found a piece of work by an anonymous artist and it is all embroidered and absolutely beautiful. Now while it is just a ship, I have fallen in love with the technique and with the different blues and greens and white froth around the base of the ship. I absolutely cannot wait to re-frame this and find a special place for it! (Perhaps even figure out a way to embroider in a seamonster!?) The possibilities seem endless.

Dressing Rooms!

So I was looking around one of my fav design blogs and today they featured a house in Chicago that a young couple revamped. Its very beautiful and it is an example to how you don't have to COMPLETELY re-do everything in older houses in order to create something beautiful. The changes they made were minor but made a huge impact on the visual. The young couple has a flikr photo stream that has over 60 photos of their restoration and amongst them I found photos of her dressing room! It is so incredibly beautiful and it makes it SO clear to me how much I want that one day lol. It still shocks me sometimes when I realize what a girly-girl I can be. Look at these though!
